Delta Reign Guide: Card List, Chase Cards & Master Set Checklist

I came up on Gen 1 and Gen 2, so I wasn't there for the first wave of Rayquaza excitement when it debuted in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire (it went on to be the face of Pokémon Emerald). But even without that, it's easy to see. Rayquaza seems to be one of the most popular Pokémon around today, so when Delta Reign was announced with Mega Rayquaza ex as the featured Pokémon, I knew this was going to be a popular set.
It's also the set we bought our first booster box for. More on that below, and we'll update this post with what came out of our 36 packs once we open the box.
Delta Reign at a Glance: Release Date, Card Count, and the Megas
Delta Reign released on Friday, November 6. It's the sixth main expansion in the Mega Evolution series (here's every set we're collecting in 2026), and it's built from Japan's Storm Emeralda set, which came out there at the end of July. That's a fitting name for a set built around the Pokémon that headlined Emerald.
The English set has 141 cards: a 103-card main set, then 38 secret rares. You can tell which is which from the number printed on the card, because anything past 103, like 117/103, is in the secret rare part of the set. Those 38 break down into 14 Illustration Rares, 17 Ultra Rares, 6 Special Illustration Rares, and one gold card at the very end. The Kecleon Illustration Rare (117/103) is one of the 14, and it might be the most colorful card in the set.
At 141 cards it's a little bigger than the last few sets, but nowhere near Mega Evolution or Ascended Heroes, so we're hoping it's a master set we can actually finish.
Four Mega Pokémon ex are in the set. Mega Rayquaza ex leads, alongside Mega Golisopod ex, Mega Golurk ex, and Mega Malamar ex.
Tip: if you're building a master set, Groudon gets an Illustration Rare in the set (111/103), but the Kyogre Illustration Rare didn't make the English set list. It's the promo card in the Elite Trainer Box instead.
Our Delta Reign Release Day Opening
The box hasn't shipped yet, so on release day we opened six packs, two each, and logged every card into the binder below as we pulled. Six packs got us 55 of the 228 cards, almost a quarter of the master set, though mostly base cards. We still need every one of the chase cards below.

Delta Reign Card List and Master Set Checklist
Here's every card in Delta Reign in one place. Our binder below fills in as we log each card we pull, starting with the 55 from our release day packs, so you can watch our master set come together. Open the list underneath it for all 141 cards, with the reverse holos marked.
A Delta Reign master set is 228 cards: the 103-card main set, the 38 secret rares, and 87 reverse holos. Every Common, Uncommon, and Rare gets a reverse holo except the six Legendary Stadium halves (#94–99), which only come as regular cards. The ex cards (Double Rares) and the secret rares don't get one either.

Delta Reign Chase Cards: What Each of Us Is Targeting

Our three chases.
Collector Sis is chasing the Eevee Illustration Rare, 114/103. She's our Eeveelutions person, so this one fits right in. It was also the first English secret rare revealed for Delta Reign, back in September.
Collector R is going for the Mega Rayquaza ex Special Illustration Rare, 138/103, the headliner of the whole set, so he's aiming high.
I'm torn between a few, but my chase is the Aarune Special Illustration Rare, 139/103, because that card's scene just screams adventure. Aarune is the Secret Base expert from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and the card has him running down a trail past a waterfall with a little red flag in hand. For a family that calls itself The Adventure Collectors, it was a pretty easy pick.
Gold Mega Rayquaza ex Price and Rarity: Mega Hyper Rare 141/103

The gold Mega Rayquaza ex, 141/103, the last card in the set.
The very last card in Delta Reign is the gold Mega Rayquaza ex, 141/103, a Mega Hyper Rare. By our count it's the ninth Mega Hyper Rare in English, following the gold Mega Darkrai ex in Pitch Black.
As of early November, presale copies of the English card have been selling for roughly $400 to $600. For comparison, the gold Mega Lucario ex and Mega Charizard X ex both launched high (Charizard X got close to $900) and have since settled at around $200. So the Rayquaza is starting out well above where those two sit today. We'll see if it holds. One more thing we noticed: in Pitch Black, the top Special Illustration Rare ended up worth more than the gold card, so Collector R's chase could turn out to be the pricier Rayquaza.
Either way, we're not in the business of hunting $500 cards. If the gold one shows up in a pack, it goes straight into the binder. If it doesn't, then it's a slot we'll be looking at for a long time, and that's okay.
Delta Reign Booster Box: Why We're Opening Our First One
We were actually able to get a Pokémon Center order in for Delta Reign, and we sprung for our first-ever booster box: 36 packs.
I was torn at first on whether to open it or hold it sealed. We've gone back and forth on ripping sealed versus buying singles before, and a sealed booster box is exactly the kind of thing people tuck away. But we're going to open it, just not on release day. Our order hasn't shipped yet, and Pokémon Center is running behind on Delta Reign orders, so we're expecting it around mid-November.
We'll post a full video of the opening on our YouTube channel, so subscribe there if you want to catch it when it drops. Whatever comes out of those 36 packs is the start of our Delta Reign master set.
If a booster box isn't in the cards for you, Delta Reign has the usual lineup: the Elite Trainer Box (nine packs and the Kyogre promo), the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box (11 packs), a half booster box (18 packs), a six-pack booster bundle, three-pack blisters, and single packs.
Should You Buy Delta Reign? Our Family's Take
If Rayquaza is your Pokémon, this is the set. For everyone else, our advice is to buy at regular price from the big stores or your local card shop, and skip the marked-up listings that pop up launch week. English pull rates are still coming in. Our six release day packs gave us two ex cards and an Illustration Rare: a small sample, but a decent start. And the early gold cards we've watched have mostly cooled off after launch, so we're being patient on singles.
What's Next for Us
We found six packs for release day (that's the video above), and the booster box comes next, around mid-November. After that, Delta Reign joins the master sets we're building. Its binder is already up in our digital binders here on the site (it's the one above), so you can watch it fill in. If you're new to the idea, here's how we build a master set and why it takes longer than you think.
If you made it to a Delta Reign prerelease, tell us how it went and what you pulled. And we'd love to know your chase card from the set. Come tell us over on YouTube, or tag us on X @Adventure_Coll.
